It amused me greatly when I bought a motorbike in the UK and the registration documentation stated it was a "bicycle". I'm sure this is a defense that will give you a chance of getting off the charges of riding a motorbike on a cycleway. I think I've seen mobility scooters with number plates and if they were 3 wheels with 1 front wheel , they probably get classify it as a tricycle which probably gets it the "bicycle" moniker for registration purposes. If you look at really old motorbikes they are clearly bicycles with small motors bolted on.

I was out for a bike ride last weekend and there was some kind of charity walk on. There were some old people doing it on mobility scooters. Now while I see it as being good that they want to do their bit, it does seem a bit of a cheat that beyond the time commitment they aren't necessarily putting the same effort in as those who are walking.

e-bike is surely something you can depend on. I have one and like to read what others have to say about it. Best part is that on the busy streets you can move faster that those cars struck in jams!!

I debated deleting this comment as spam, but honestly felt it best to reply publicly for other readers of the site to benefit.

As a writer obviously experienced in using ebikes, finding a spam comment like this on my blog is moderately insulting. It's purely commercial, does nothing to engage the writer of the blog, me, who is in fact a real live human being. Advertorial-speak is really inappropriate and a waste of time for such a venture, especially given that I screen comments.

I would advise people reading this blog to avoid this company, as they have no idea how to do PR and spend their time trawling relevant websites and throwing marketing-speak about. Ugh. Abhorent.

The E+ by Electric Motion Systems

The E+ is the most powerful, elegant, reliable, and safe electric bicycle in the World. Riding an E+ is truly a new and exciting experience

The E+ is a real alternative for commuting if you live 10 to 15 miles from your workplace and double that if your workplace has a wall outlet you can use for recharge. Its electric propulsion system is highly reliable and you always have a pedaling backup. With a range of 20 miles on a single battery charge without pedaling, you don't have to work at it, unless you want to. In many city and suburban environments, it's really pleasant. In congested areas it will almost certainly reduce your commute time as traffic snarls just don’t affect you. There is no need to wear ˜riding clothes and change when you get to work as most workplaces are pretty casual these days, and you won't break a sweat riding the E+.

On to money If you live downtown in a city, it may well be practical for you to avoid owning a car. Perhaps you have already decided or done that. If so or you are considering this, it doesn't take much thought to conclude you will, or have, saved a great deal of money.

Great set of links, thanks (and not just for linking to my interview with Eloise Dortch). I really enjoyed the one about hot-water-tank efficiency and the offsets for air travel.
